hmmmmmmmmmm............They look like the same thing as adding a pound of BB's inside the tire....

BB will ruin a tire though. Look basicly like what truckers use.

They work good but are kind of pricey.

I personally know of several guys runnin BB's and have yet to hear anyone say it ruined their tires.
I know a lot of guys on Pirate are runnin golf balls and love em. They hardly hear em and they balance out the tires great. I have only heard a few people gripe about the performance form the golf balls.

How many golf balls would you put in a 36" tire? I never heard of this.

I am pretty sure a 36 would take 6 balls. I have 36's and 37's and was told by several to use either 6 or 7 golf balls per tire.
If you ever go to pirate4x4.com, you can use the search feature and type in something like golf ball tire balancing or just golf balls and it will come up in several posts.
It has been discussed at length there and most I believe are happy with em.
I was at Walmart the other day and they had like 3 golfballs in a bag for next to nothing, I would use cheap ones if you do it.

I'm running 5 golf balls per tire in my 36's, balances out much better than standard weights, would probably be better with 6 or 7 per tire but I'm too lazy to break them down by hand again. I did exactly what FatAzzRunner said, went to wally-world and got the el-cheapo's and they work fine. I think it was like $10 for 2 dozen golf balls. The wife thought I went nuts and was taking up golf. ;D I don't hear them at all on the highway, and occasionally will hear them bouncing around when I come to a stop.

I would definately use new golf balls. The balls will eventually need replaced but I have talked to numerous people who have opened up their tires and found the golfballs torn apart with no damage to the tire, just throw in some new and keep going.
Also, if you were to use BB's on a trail rig only, I dont see it ruining a tire. I would say possibly if you used it everyday putting 30 miles or more per day on your rig.
Also, I know some guys are using a mix of antifreeze and water in their tires as well. I dont know anyone personally using this though.

Because, the last trip we went on to Colorado, we had to drive our rigs an hour each way on highways at higher speeds. That would have made our trip at least 2 hours had we had to stay at 30-35 mph.
