Anyone been there, done that? I don't want to spend money on the adapter ring, I'm thinking about just drilling out my Advance Adapter and doing it myself.

You heard me at the station last week, make yourself a steel ring, deside how many degrees you want to clock it and drill 2 sets of holes, bolt that to your adapter and drill away.

Since you already have an adapter, you almost have to modify it or buy one that has the clocking positions in it. You might as well modify it.
My AA adapter (for the AX15 to D300) which I used on the AW4 came with original and two clocking choices. I took the mid choice and the bottom of the t/c lacks about 1 degree of being flat.
On mine with the 4.0 and almost clocked flat, it means at least a 2" body lift or a significant modification to your passenger side floor board. I compromised with 1" body lift and a BFH modified floor board. Also, you must bend your shifter(s) the same degrees you clock the t/c.

Ken, how old is your AA? That's got me wondering if my AA between the TH350 and D300 may also have extra clocking positions, I've never had it apart or even checked for that.
I already have a 2" BL so that's already taken care of and bending shifter isn't a problem, I've got an extra shifter so I may make twin sticks while I'm at it.
Ken, when you clocked your's did you have to get a new front d-shaft?

That would be all right, can you just slide a finger counter clockwise from a mounting bolt and feel for an extra hole?

My adapter is a little over 3 years old.
When I swapped the 4.0/AW4 for the 258/T5, I had to get drive shafts but not for the clocking. The 4.0/AW4 and adapter was 5" longer.
I really like the twin shifter and use it a lot when out wheeling. I stay in 2wd rear for most wheeling because I can navigate tight spaces better. I do get in trouble because I forget (CRS).

Thanks for the link Harold! That's one of the best adapters I've seen yet. I don't think that would affect my rear d-shaft at all, but I do worry about the front one being swung away possibly creating a compound angle. I'll save that one as a last resort, I'm really hoping to pull this off without any new adapters(yup, I'm cheap :

Now that is interesting since he offers one for a 231. But it is not complete as the kit that is offered by Down East. So maybe when all is said and done the one from down east would be a bettr deal, for us that have 231s anyway.
