Going to start on the front of my latest lift tonight hopefully. Putting RE 4.5" coils in the front. I have YJ brake lines to put on, hope thats long enough. Anyway, what would be a good shock for the front? I have some YJ ones laying around, but don't know if they are long enough or not. In the rear I will add homemade blocks to get it to the level of the front for now. Running ZJ shocks back there. Maybe raising the lower shock mount would make them work about right.

andy those shocks are not going to be long enough. For the rear i would raise the mount as much as you can and they would be close (like completely cut the mount off, cut it in half and remount it up). for the front though... You could take some angle iron and make some custom extensions for the lower mount, just bolt up the angle iron and put a bolt through the eye-let instead of the bar pin and that might be long enough. for the front brake lines in the front i would bend that line down and reposition it while you are at it. I found out this weekend my yj lines are almost to short with my 3.5 coils and inch spacer. just using the yj in the rear should be enough, but you can get a little more if you need it.

Guess I will straighten that line out then, easy enough to do while I am at it. In the front I have some 1.5" BPEs that I made for the stock shocks on my current lift. Might be able to reuse or possibly have to add onto them. Tune the travel with a stack of hockey pucks I bought.
