i got my new roof rack all put together but i ran into a problem with my spare tire mount. I am making my own mount and I was planning on taking two pieces of steel and sandwiching two of the 1inch rails but heres the problem. The rack only has 5 rails [ | | | | | ] and in order to get the tire center you need an even number of rails. i can't for the life of me figure out a way to do it. any ideas??

How much room do you need for the mount? You could go to the rails on each side of the center one and take 1" tubing and build it up, then put your mount plate across them. If you need to go higher for clearance use two 1" pieces of tubing then the mount plate. Where are you located at? If you can send me a pic of what you have and I'm sure we can make it work. Warrior

How about welding another rail in the center?

Hey Mike, the Kargo Master spare tire mount comes off-setted so it is not perfectly centered either.

oh, it does?? I think i will just pick two rails, sandwich them, and off-center then hole for the mounting bolt. I think it will be the easiest way to do it. Thanks for the help everyone.
