I've got 36" bias TSL's and they are awful on the street, mine don't see alot of street miles. I run 33 MT's on the street and swap tires when I go wheelin'. Off-road I wouldn't trade them for anything, I love them!!

I have goodyear MTR's, I love them. On street they are great and off road great to. They kinda don't clean very well but I don't really get into mud much. I wouldn't run tsl bias on street every day, they will not last more than 10,000 miles and thats maybe. I have had tsl ssr's and I liked them offroad but they will not last very long on a daily driver.

I am runnin 38.5x14.5x15 tsl sx's on my burb. love em. i do sacrifice some on the street, but not too much. wouldnt trade them for anything off road, and they do pretty decent on the street. as for the wear, they have 3 trips to disney, and 2 trips to tuttle, plus being an every day driver, and still look new. ill be suprised if they have half tread by 15k.

If you are wanting an allaround awsome tire that does great on the street and does awsome on the rocks depending where you wheel then you cant go wrong with the MTR.
I have both 36" TSL Bias Plysand 37" MTR's, as for the TSL's, love them off road, they sucked on the street, mainly because I am spooled in the rear. They wore quickly due to that reason.
I really like my MTR's for the street and still can wheel the hell outta my truck with em on the rocks. It depends on the type of rocks you will be on more. In Colorado, I wouldnt run anything but the MTR's. They stuck to everything I put them on. In Disney, the TSL's work like glue, but the MTR's are a little slippery when they get a little wet, but only in Disney. I would drive through a water crossing in Colorado and climb something immediately after that with no probs. In Disney, I get a little water on my tires and sometimes I have to spin em to dry em off. Nothing too bad though.

On that small of a tire I'd run the TSL's. 36" and bigger and they tend to be a lot less pavement friendly. I ran 33x12.5 TSL's for over a year and they wore real well (have been on two ther rigs since me) and I drove it to Moab and back as well. They balance great, and the hmmm is soothing I put almost 20K on them and they were used when I got them. Wish I still could use a tire that small, I really liked them. MTR's are great to boot. Mine are wearing fantastic and have a lot of chunks missing. FWIW you can always pick up a set of used 31-32" AT's CHEAP to run when not going wheelin.

Yeah, that's the plan. I absolutely LOVE my Dueler D693 ATs. They're awesome in the snow, street really well, and surprise the heck outta me down at Tuttle.
Went up Corkscrew and Driveshaft with very little difficulty with 'em.
I'm thinking 265/75-16 Duelers or BFG ATs for daily use would be ideal with the 2" lift I'm putting together...

What do you need to get out of them?

You might look at the Pro comp mt,s for a usable tire on the street. I,ve been selling them for 4 years without a single tire returned for a claim. I,d put them up against a BFG anyday! They are quieter on the pavement, they will last longer and they are tougher. I have many customers running them at 10 psi all day them air up and head for home. I watch them bash the crap out of them and they just come back for more. If your interested in a new tire thats cheap but tough look at the 31x11.5 LTB swamper. Bias ply but ride pretty good. They stick to rocks well and have deeper lugs than the tsl. They move more real estate than the tsl as well. We carry both in stock if you need em. Mike 4x4 land.com

Up until three days ago, I was absolutely set on 31" LTBs. But then, the guy I know who lifted his Trooper, and seems to be more of an expert than myself told me that in order to avoid rub, I really need to stay under 10.5" wide.
So, I thought, "well, I want as much height as I can get while still being able to tuck up into the wheel wells."
I dunno. I wish I could test-fit all of them. But, who's going to have all of that handy, and would render them not "new" by mounting them, for the sake of a test fit.
I'm torn. But, I've got somewhere close to $550-575 with which to buy wheels and tires, and I've gotta have 'em buy Thanksgiving in order to take my father- and brother-in-law 'wheeling.
