Metal heads, fabricators, people who know suspensions. Pick this suspension apart for me. To me it looks simple, and might just work, but I am still unsure of the lateral support it will give. then what will happen when the wristed arm is installed.

from what i can see in the picture, it looks like there should be plenty of lateral support. the only thing that i can not tell is how much clearance there is between the v-bars and the drive shaft. it looks to me like the pivot point for the v-bars is forward of the pivot point for the drive shaft. maybe the v-bars should have a bend(which shouldnt effect performance if done correctly). as far as the "wristed arm"? not exactly sure what you are talkin about ;D other than that, it looks like a pretty good setup

I would question the lateral stability gained by mounting the V-bars to the radius arms. I think for good lateral stability the v-bars would need their own frame tie-in points.

Actually drive shaft clearence is not a problem since there is really no twist to the axle like is a LCA-UCA type suspension. But this also gets rid of the track bar on a standardJeep XJ suspension. A wristed arm you basicly make the arm that is away from the drive shaft have a pivot point about where the shock mount is. Thus allowing the suspension to flex better. www.broncoii4x4.com/wristedarm/destructions.htm

Alot of things like this have been experimented with on naxja but they always have trouble on the xj with oilpan clearance.
One fabricator made a fairly complex upper wishbone that he hasn't got on the road yet though .
If you did mount those bars to the frame you WOULD have driveshaft clearance problems though.

No way of mounting them on the frame. With a radius arm set up.The oil pan bothers me a bit But that is in the distance. My concern is lateral stability .

on the lateral stability, i dont think it would be much of a problem on something as light as a jeep. since the v-bars are mounted as close to the hiem joints as possible, there is not enought leverage for the v-bars to move the radius arms very much, if at all, espceially since it appears that the radius arms are "hard mounted" to the axle. please keep one thing in mind, i am NOT an expert in suspension, so if i am wrong on this, let me know.

i think that would offer adequate lateral stability but it would be better if the tri-links were connected to the frame or something besides the control arms.
