Not as many guys interested as I thought. Oh well, Here is another link to look at that is a very good one for a Yota beginner. Basic answers to everyday questions from someone just getting started at looking at Yotas. www.wildyoats.com/toyota_4x4_building_101.htm

Those are some good links, I rarely go to the POR boards, but when you need good tech info POR is probably one of the best places to check.

I would love to build a toyota. I just have too many vehicles, and need to keep something around to pull a trailer.

I do wish to thank you for the links, I am in the process of building the 81 Toy. I plan to put the chevy truck springs under the back, not sure which to put in the frount the wagoneer springs or aftermarket lifts? And I do want to put a flat bed on it. Crawler gears will prpbably be the first big add on. Dan

It depends on how much lift you want/need for the front. You can save some $$ and put the rears up front as well.

You can actually buy the aftermarket lifted frount springs as cheap or cheaper than the stock waggy springs from JC Whitney. How much lift do you get with the waggy springs? And as for the chevys on the back how much lift do you get from them, I went clear through that link and they never really said, in some places they even talked of using blocks? The lift will be the first thing I do, along with the flat bed. Dan

44044 is the part # for 4" lifted springs. Some say that they fit 37s with the Chevys and some say you need a 2" block to fit them so I am unclear on the actual total lift. I guess put them on and see if you need to lift it more or not.
