you need a solid axle more than a 5.0! and go full width! that would be sweet! But condrats on the "buy"!

Dude do you have the 4.0 liter v6? If so, I wouldn't worrry about a v8. I would rather have the fuel injection v6 than a caburated v8. (unless you have the money to fuel inject the v8 and SAS. I would do the SAS first.

Yeah, i do have the 4 litre V6 in it right now. and I am planning on doing the SAS after I graduate from KState (About 4 years). But I had always thought it would be cool to swap in a v8 for more torque if I could find on for the right price..... and this is a pretty good price.... now, yes, I know, since it needs rebuilt, it will cost a lot of money for all that stuff..... and I will need a new tranny..... and I may get creative and swap in a new t-case too..... and that all costs money too, but this engine "project" as I am now calling it is just that..... a project. I am not planning on having it rebuilt and ready to go by the end of the summer or anything, unless something really cool happens to me in the money department. It is something that will take a few years to complete..... so mainly, right now, it is NOT for the Explorer (ok, it is)... it is for experience for me to learn as much as I can about engines and how to work on them, so that when I get into the real world working on cars for a living (higher than a mechanic, as cool as that would be) I will have the know-how. I'm not mad, or frustrated with anybody b.c of their opinions, b/c everybody's entitled to their own, I BELIEVE me, I am takin them ALL into consideration, b/c I know that you all know more than me when it domes to this, but I simply wanted to let everybody know, in a little more detail, what my plans for this engine were. But please, by all means, keep tellin me what you think about it and give me your opinions of anything that I could do to it to make this project better. Thank you all for your expertise, and post away!!! ;D

Ya can't turn down a free engine ;D At least I can't
Guess that is why my cylinder index was so high!
I know where there is a EFI 302 that I think runs good. It is in an early 90's crown vic with a fried AOD. Sitting in the neighbors back yard.

really? I've heard that I could easily fuel inject this 302 by taking all the EFI parts FROM a Crown Vic. hmmm....
