Potential members if you are wanting to Join Trail Krawlers you do not have to wait till a meeting to join. I have everything you need to join at my house. Just give me a holler and we can get the ball rolling. Thanks for your patience as we continue to grow as the best 4X4 club in the state. Dues are $35 for full membership and $20 for the associate membership. Thanks, MarkTEXT

What is the difference between full membership and associate membership. Is there any requirements as far as minimal meeting and events you have to attend. I ask this because I live in KC,Ks and my job keeps me going 6 and 7 days a week, only one weekend a month off.
You can e-mail me if you want.

The only requirement to join TK is a 4x4 vehicle with low-range t-case. That's it, nothing else. The only time meeting attendance comes into play is if someone wants to be an officer. You must attend 65% of the meetings to hold office.
Full-membership entitles you to, monthly club newsletter, windshield banner, membership to SWFWDA & UFWDA, and voting priviledges.
Associate membership gets you a windshield banner and the club newsletter. No membership to SWFWDA & UFWDA, and no vote.

OK, so how do we get the ball rolling. I was allready making plans to try and attend your meeting on April 12th so I could at least meet some of The Kansas Krawlers. My Scout won't quite be complete by then so do you think someone would have a empty seat for the wheeling part of the day?

Bill, There is usually a seat available somewhere, you might not get the full experience of riding in a binder, but you won't choke on any wheat stubble either. Just razzin' you. My first vehicle was a 'binder. My Dad had bought a 59 3/4 ton 6 cly. 4 sp. It had 37,000 original miles on it when he got it. It still had the factory plastic seat covers that was about 1/8 in thick plastic. I bought it from him for 500. in '76. I wish I still had it. Bryan

Getting the ball rolling is easy, come down, check us out, and if you like what we do, join up.
I do need to make a correction though, we're not the Kansas Krawlers, we're Trail Krawlers 4x4. The Kansas Krawlers are a Topeka based club, I know a couple of their members and they seem like a decent bunch. Trail Krawlers 4x4(us) is based around Tuttle Creek with membership open to anyone, anywhere, requardless of what make 4x4 you own.
I may have an open seat, but I usually won't know until a day or so before the meeting, if I do you're welcome to it!

OOPs, my bad. I meant Trail Krawlers and look forward to meeting with you. Hopefully April 12th. I can swallow my pride for a few hours and ride in something besides a Binder

Untill recently I used to have a seat in Blue but since the Ole lady and the three kids got back in I am rather cramped. But you wouldn't want to ride in a Jeep anyway;) you might actually like it too much! I was going to buy a Scout II But a recent family addition ended that idea. I need 5 seats.

My wife won't even get in my Scout ;D and you can put 5 people in a Scout II plus room for cargo unless someone took the back seat out.

I thought they were only 4 seaters:S Well I wave too much into my Heep to try to goto something else right now. Plus I am less mad at her now She used to not be driveable above 40 mph. Now while driving over 70 mph is hairy is is easily done and you get a massage to boot! Maybe I should hook up the sway bar again for highway travels. Mark

My wife drove mine once to her mothers about 1 mile away and informed me it was to tall . Said she couldn't judge turns to good ( ran over curb ). She said she'll never drive it again. Most Scout IIs came with bucket seats in front and a rear benchseat that folded down. But some did come out with benchseats front and rear. Everyone has there chose of vehicles and I do like Jeeps but I prefer to build Scouts because not everyone has one.

Nice thing about Scouts is you get front & rear D44's, I wish Jeep would've gotten the hint.

Yeah D44s are nice. I have several jeep friends that have put scout D44s under there jeeps, gives them a 4 1/2" wider stance. But beware of this upgrade- stock D44 scout axles are no longer made thus if you break one and don't have spares stashed you will have to buy the axles from someone like Dutchman or Warn. If I start breaking axles I'll upgrade to a Corporate 14 bolt. Heres a little secret, a 14 bolt from a chassic cab chevy truck is only 1 1/2" wider than a scout D44 ;D
