Ok I've heard of lots of Yota and some Jeep guys swearing by spools . ? is what are the advantages or vice versa. and are they any better than lincoln lockers. Or is it basically the same thing.? John

A spool is stronger than a lincoln. and lighter like that matters. do they make one for your 14 bolt?

I have whats known as a lincolng locker in my yota and think its the best mod yet. Both the full spools, mini spools and lincoln lockers all work the same. For 160 dollers I'm betting you could get a detroit locker off of Ebay for a 14 bolt. I guess its personal preferance. But if I had a FF 14 bolt then I'd but the detroit since they are so cheep.

I've got a 14 bolt that's being built and unless it's a very new product, I haven't seen a spool for one, Detroit baby! Occasionally you can find some 14 bolt stuff on e-bay, but not too often.

I like my spool for the most part. It is a tire eatin son of a..........................well, you know. I also hate it for winter driving in town but oh well, it rocks for everything else, I would do it again if I build another rig on a budget. If I had the $$$ to spend, I would go with an ARB.

8-)For the 14 bolt, do the detroit. As far as I have seen, htere isn't a spool for it yet. As far as lincoln lockers go, the full spool is stronger, the cross pin and or carrier wears down quickly with the mini spool or the lincoln locker
