board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?board=12;action=display;threadid=2397This is a HUGE step for us Toyota guys IMO. Not something most people need, but awsome none the less. In fact, the two main shafts that Marlin has designed are to the same specifications of a Full Size V8 Tundra transfercase output shaft. He wanted to address the concern of the stock minitruck output shaft by using Toyota's strongest available mainshaft in existence. We have disassembled a couple of Tundra transfercases and Marlin sized his output shafts to match. To add some more onions, our front output shaft and both flanges (front and rear outputs) are also the same size as those found on the V8 Tundra.

For those that just want a brief summary For many years Marlin has wanted to build a transfer case that has the ability to run front wheel drive only for use in compitition. For the past few months he has been slowly turning the idea into reliaty. Taking his ideas, drafting drawings, and commiting ideas to steel. Now a functional mockup is about done and it has demonstrated that it is possable to have control of the front and rear shafts. These modifications have made it possable to select front wheel drive, rear wheel drive , or 4 wheel drive all with a single shifter. In order to handel the stresses of compitition life, this system has upgraded the output shaft from a stock 27 spline to a larger 30 spline output shaft on both front and rear outputs. Below is a photo of the new two section main shaft. What do you guys think about this project. Assuming a price point of about $900 would you buy one? We would really lie to recieve feedback to help deside our course of action with this project. FYI we plan to bring a prototype unit out to the hammers for new years the rear disconnect is accomplished by replacing the long main shaft with two shorter shafts. Additional shaft support bearings were needed to stabilize the shafts. As long as the shafts were getting replaced, larger shafts and flanges were used. It's still several months from a finished case, but we wanted to let people see what Marlin has been tinkering with. Here is a close up of the main shaft pilot bearing...
