I am picking up a Dana 60 front axle for my burb that has drum brakes. Does anyone know what it takes to convert to disk brakes? Can I use the same knuckles?
Thanks

it will be quite a while before it goes under the burb. have to convert to disk breaks, new gears, air locker...maybe even chrome moly axles and ctm ujoints ;D it will be worth the wait though ;D ;D ;D

Brian, is this the older international frontend you referred to in another post . I personnelly have not messed with them for simple reason IH was famous for using unique parts (oddball) in there D60s. I have heard so many stories about them I cringe when I see one.

hey bill
i just found out what you mean about the odd ball parts in the ihc axles. the axle i bought turned out to be a dana 44, but the spring perch on the 3rd member is like nothing i have seen before. only used one u-bolt. used studs on the inside. weird. the flat top knuckles will do me good though ;D

Cool, since it's a d44 with flat-tops then you definitely got your $50 worth ;D. It has the 8 bolt spindles and can be converted to discs by simply using scout II spindles, rotors and calipers. IH only made flat-top 44 knuckles in 74 and 75 so there kinda rare ;)
