I need to get some perches bought/made for my 8.8 swap.
Anybody have the tools to make them from a pice of square tube or should I just order some and save the hassle.
I think I am gonna put in an order for an Aussie to put in my D30 today so i need to get working on this project again so I can put Marks old axle in the front.

Harold and I made the perches for the 9" really easy. Make 'em yerself A plus to makeing them yer self is built in lift, and anti wrap can be built into them.

Ya, was thinking about that some more today. Guess I would just need a piece of 2.5x8 or something like that rectangle. Then use a 3" hole saw (or whatever the tube size of the 8.8 is) and drill a hole in the middle of it. I could then cut it in two pieces and have my perches.
Is that the way you went about it?

Sort of Harold made a jig for his plas and cut them out. Not as pretty but much cheaper! I think I have less than $6 in 2 sets of perches. Harold was going to put offset holes in his also. I just centered mine. I'm lazy!

ya, a good hole saw of that size costs at much as I could probly buy the perches for.
I will have to get out the blue tip wrench and see how good I do.

Even after Harold cut them I had to gring a bit with the angle grinder and the rotory grinder.
