Since there wasn't enough people at the meeting to have a vote I am putting this up on the web for discussion and voteing. Jim and Angie Henson found someone to "cater" the event for around $250 for approximatly 100-125 people. What we would get is premade, precooked but frozen 1/4 lb ground chuck hamburger patties, potato salad, baked beans, and cole slaw. The burgers will still need to be warmed but not cooked. We still need to provide condiments, buns and maybe chips or something and we would have to serve also. Does this sound fair and should we do this? Or should we as the club buy everything and prepare this ourselves?

I think that sounds like a good Idea. How much notice do they need before the event.

I think it's a good idea, but what does the food committee chairwoman think? Just a thought, but maybe we should consider adding hotogs for the kids, alot of kids would rather have a dog than a burger.

I was at Walmart tonight and thought I would check out prices on hamburger patties and for the fresh premade patties uncooked were about $12 per 20. and hot dogs we can get for about .50 a pack and buns for both I can get real cheep at the local bread store about 1.29 for 2, 8 packs. Just my .02

I think the walmart or the do it our self idea looks to be a good and cheaper way for the club...

I have seen these burgers and they look like a nice burger. I've cooked with the Wally world burgers the last KK meeting we ate those things that shrivel up to nothing. It would be nice to make them our selves but who is going to do it? then we have to cook all of those burgers and on what? with the catered burgers we just have to heat them and we are eating.

I'm willing to try using the caterer that Jim suggested.

If you guys are interested I can hook us a deal on BBQ. My dad owned a BBQ restaurant in El Dorado until May 31st until he hit early retirement. He still does custom catering and I know I can work a deal. Just an idea to pass around. I know we could do something like Brisket (beef) Chicken (chicken breast, white meat) Baked Beans Slaw Potato Salad sauce, buns, plates, throw away stabbers and cutters only thing we would need is drinks. Would probably be around 3 bucks a head. Again, Just something I'm willing to cook up for everyone. I wouldn't make any profit off it so just let me know Andy also... what are you guys doing and where??
