On the other hand, as a club we might consider offering T Shirt sponsorships to some of the prize sponsors. They foot the cost of the T shirts in exchange for their logo somewhere on the T Shirt. I like the idea, but I think it's too late to try it this year. Also, if we do this, I think our large sponsors should be on it at no cost, they've already showed an enormous amount of generosity by donating an item(s) worth several hundred dollars. I do think the idea would appeal to smaller vendors that possibly may not want to donate product, but would like some exposure/advertising. Jen, as for you producing some shirts on your own, I don't have a problem with that. Right now the only shirts we're planning on getting would be 25 or so staff shirts.

Some thoughts: Having an event annually over the next umpteen years is probably a reality given the dedication to this club I have seen. Not having an innogural or 1st annual t-shirt would by a shame, whether you put any names on it or not. Having attended alot of events I can tell you that if you have a cool shirt with a cool logo on it they will sell. You may have to have a small auction at the end of the day to "unload" the rest of them but you will make money and the advertisment factor is a big bonus for future events. Especially if the chirt is cool. People at other events do look at other shirts to see whats out there. I like the logo you have and would gladly buy a shirt with it on there. I think others would too. Some collect them and twenty years from now it would be cool to be wearing the 1st annual shirt. Mike

It's not necessarily that we don't want shirts, it's more that we can't afford shirts. I don't know much about the cost other than what Jeremy has posted so I don't know how much more of a discount we could get if we ordered say...125 shirts, but I think we'd be in the neighborhood of between $500-$800. At this point, that's way out of our league, I'm not sure, but I'm guessing we have around $100 in the bank. Don't get me wrong, personally, I would love to have a couple 1st Annual Kansas Krawl t-shirts, but I just don't think it's a financial reality for the club to come up with the $$$ for it. Even getting the staff shirts will be a challenge and it's been proposed that staff members pay for their own shirts.
Another thing that leaves me somewhat skeptical is the fact that t-shirt sales bombed bad at the last 2 Flatlanders events. Whether it was because of bad design or whatever, I couldn't tell you. IMHO, the shirts could have been better, I didn't care for the layout on the shirt, and the "catch phrase" for the event "Been there, Done that" just didn't have much appeal to me. I'm open to any ideas and suggestions, I would really like our 1st event to be a memorable one, but I have to practical and try to keep the club out of a finacial hole.

The phrase or design wasn't even know to anyone and the shirt sales were a flop. I remember auctioning off the shirts ror a buck or two and then giving people several shirts for that price Not really a good deal for the club.

ok, for colored shirts in the 125 range, it would be about 5.50 a shirt. So, about $687.50. I think that people know that shirts get auctioned off too, and they will hold out till the price drops. That is just my opinion. I am all for 1st annual shirts, but if we are going to do that, then we should just give them with a registration, and up the price of registering 5 bucks or so.

PS Rob, what do you want me to do with these fliers?

Jeremy, e-mail one of the finished versions of the flier to Alex and one to me, if anyone else wants one let Jeremy know.
Alex, if you could, please post the flier, registration, and waiver so it can be downloaded from the web.
I'll take mine and burn some copies and post them around here.
